Symantec, a division of Broadcom, is performing maintenance in the NAM/EMEA/APJ regions. This maintenance will begin on January 4, 2023, starting at 09:00 UTC and will be completed on January 16, 2023 at 23:59 UTC. The work will be performed in a staggered manner and during the maintenance period, all aspects of our services are expected to function as normal.

Impact

We are currently enhancing our Virus scanning applications and as a result, we expect there will be noticeable changes to the way some virus-related information is reported to our customers. The enhancements may include changes to the malware name and detection methods.

For example, malware name may have previously contained the prefix “AVE/” such as AVE/Scr.Malcode!gdn32 and will now be displayed as Scr.Malcode!gdn32. If you are using specific search criteria in your SIEM related to malware names and detection methods that you have received via our data feed, you may need to modify your criteria.

No customer impact is expected from this maintenance and all email services will remain available.
