On March 31, 2021, Unified Agent (UA) reached End of Maintenance (EOM) status, at which time delivery of technical support, new features, fixes, and security patches for UA ceased. Following UA, we have released five major versions of the WSS Agent, delivering dozens of performance enhancements, high value features, and security patches. None of these enhancements are available to UA users.

In addition, we have allowed UA traffic to continue to flow through the platform to give customers time to migrate and approximately 99% of UA users have already done so. However, in order to maintain our security posture, we will cease to allow Unified Agent to connect to Cloud SWG starting on March 31, 2024. Therefore, it is critical that all devices running Unified Agent be upgraded to a supported agent before that time.

Impact

  • Broadcom will no longer allow the Unified Agent to connect to Cloud SWG. All devices running Unified Agent will effectively lose internet access until the Unified Agent is removed or replaced with a supported agent.

Required Action

  • Upgrade all instances of Unified Agent to a supported agent version before March 1, 2024.
