Scheduled

The Symantec Web Security Service Team will be decommissioning the Amsterdam South (AMS1) VIP. The last day the AMS1 VIP will be available for use is July 31, 2019. Prior to this date customers are urged to reconfigure their connections to use the Amsterdam East (AMS5) VIP, which went live in December of last year.

The VIP for AMS5 is: 98.158.252.164

As a reminder, AMS5 VIP retrieves content using the following source IP networks:

  • 98.158.252.0/22
  • 168.149.156.0/24

Connections relying on DNS, Symantec's Cloud Traffic Controller, or Proxy connections to proxy.threatpulse.net, will automatically be switched over to use AMS5 on June 12, 2019.

Action Required If connectivity from your network to the Web Security Service is regulated by firewall rules, these rules must be adjusted to allow traffic to pass to the AMS5 VIP. In addition, please ensure that any sourced-based access controls applied by you or your vendors are updated to reflect the AMS5 source IP network to ensure WSS traffic can pass unencumbered.

Customers connecting via IPSec should transition to AMS5 VIP as quickly as possible. The AMS1 VIP will only be available until July 31, 2019.
