The scheduled maintenance has been completed.
Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.
In the coming weeks, the Symantec Web Security Service will deploy a software update to the PAC File Management Service (PFMS), which will be reachable over a new static IP.
We recommend customers make any necessary changes to firewall rules to allow outbound HTTPS traffic (TCP port 443) to the following static IPs by November 7, 2020:
New IP Address
• 34.120.17.44
Existing IP Addresses
• 35.155.165.94 • 35.162.233.131 • 52.21.20.251 • 52.54.167.220 • 199.247.42.187 • 199.19.250.187
Impact During the maintenance period, all aspects of our services are expected to function as normal. Failure to make changes to firewall rules to accommodate the above static IPs may result in PFMS becoming unreachable.
Required Action If end user connectivity to WSS is regulated by stringent firewall rules, those firewall rules should be adjusted to allow traffic to pass to the new IP prior to the go-live date.
Customers utilizing PFMS for PAC files with SEP-WTR and Explicit-Proxy deployments should update firewall rules to allow outbound HTTPS traffic (TCP port 443) to the new static IP by November 7, 2020.
The DNS entry pfms.wss.symantec.com will not be moved to the new static IP any earlier than November 7, 2020.
Firewall rules for the existing IPs should remain in place in the near-term, as a precaution for failover or fallback. A follow up announcement will be made after the existing IPs have been fully decommissioned.
