Underway

The scheduled maintenance is now underway. We'll keep you updated on our progress.

Scheduled

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen security and protect against email spoofing, we are enforcing stricter controls on outbound email routes. Additional service providers will be added to the Hosted Email Services section under Platform > Mail Routes Outbound. Existing outbound routes for Salesforce or ServiceNow will be replaced with the associated hosted service provider outbound routes.

Impact / Action Required:

If you are relaying outbound email through the Symantec Email Security.cloud service from a hosted mail provider or a SaaS solution such as Salesforce or ServiceNow, you MUST ensure that:

  • You have registered your domain in ClientNet. This must be a domain that you own and control (e.g. acme.com) and not a shared domain or subdomain of the service provider (e.g. acme.salesforce.com).
  • You have configured your sender domain in the specific SaaS solution that you are using.

If you have not completed the above two steps, we cannot identify the relayed mail as belonging to you as a legitimate customer, and will reject it after May 6, 2025.

If you have already configured Microsoft Office 365 or Google Workspace as hosted email services in Email Security.cloud, then no further changes are required for those providers.

Salesforce and ServiceNow will be available as hosted providers after May 6, 2025. If you have existing outbound routes for these providers they will be automatically replaced with the associated hosted service provider outbound route after May 6, 2025.
