We are proud to announce the immediate general availability of WSS Agent v8.1.1.

To download this version, sign into the WSS Portal and navigate to Connectivity > WSS Agent. The download is available under the “Maintenance Release” portion of the “Installers” section.

Version 8.1.1 will be promoted to the “Recommended Release” on June 2, 2022.

Features and Improvements

  • SAML authentication improvements
    • Support for SAML x509 (client) certificate authentication
    • Enhanced debugging and troubleshooting tools
    • Upgraded to use Webview2 on Windows
  • Upcoming features to be enabled through future service-side updates:
    • Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) support
    • DNS Proxy
  • Various stability improvements and bug fixes

Supported Environments

  • 64-bit Windows 10 version 19H2 and later (Semi-Annual Servicing Channel) - including Windows 11
  • macOS Catalina and later - including macOS Monterey

Impact

  • Existing users will be prompted to upgrade to version 8.1.1 on June 2, 2022 if configured to do so in the WSS Portal.
  • If using SAML on Windows devices, Microsoft Webview2 is required. Please see this KB article for more information: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/233577.
  • Version 7.5.4 will be made available under the “Other Release(s)” section and supersedes all other 7.x versions.
