The scheduled maintenance is now underway. We'll keep you updated on our progress.

Scheduled

We are pleased to announce that the Policy-Based Encryption Advanced (PBE) (Echoworx) Outlook Add-In for Microsoft 365 will be upgraded to our latest version 4.0 release on June 17th at 3:00pm EDT / 19:00 UTC. Microsoft announced that it will no longer support legacy tokens after June 30th, so this release supports the migration from legacy Microsoft tokens to the new Microsoft Graph authentication.

Important: Organizations that currently use the M365 add-in must Grant Admin Consent before June 17th to avoid any disruption to end users of the add-in.

Please review the KB article containing the step-by-step instructions in the Installation and Migration Guide to “Grant Admin Concent.” The URL required to grant Admin Consent to the Outlook Add-In is:

Summary of Impact to Customers

  • Granting Admin Consent to the Outlook Add-In

    • Customers who grant Admin Consent before June 17 will experience a non-service-impacting upgrade, and no further action is required.
    • Customers who do NOT grant Admin Consent before June 17th: After the upgrade to release 4.0, upon first launch of the add-in, all add-in users will be prompted individually to provide consent to the necessary MS Graph permissions. Most organizations prevent users from allowing individual permissions, and in that case, users will be prompted to submit a request for consent to their administrator. The add-in may not function correctly, or users may experience errors if consent is not granted.
  • Upgrading the Outlook Add-in to version 4.0

    • As an Echoworx-managed hosted service, no customer action is required (except Admin Consent), and the new add-in version will be available to all users after the upgrade.
    • Customers will continue to use existing M365 add-in manifest installations (.xml packages) with no action required.
    • There is no change to the user experience or functionality.
  • Customers currently using the COM Add-in for legacy Outlook

    • The COM add-in for legacy versions of Outlook is not impacted; this update only impacts the M365 version.
