Web Security Service Release Announcement

4 hours

The maintenance is now complete. Thanks for your patience.

The scheduled maintenance is now underway. We'll keep you updated on our progress.

Symantec will perform a service-wide deployment of the Web Security Service (WSS) on May 27, 2022, starting at 21:00 UTC for a duration of 4 hours.

WSS Portal Updates

  • WSS supports multiple-account switching. In enterprises with multiple WSS accounts, Administrators are no longer required to register each tenant with a unique email address. A single Administrator can switch between accounts from within the portal.
  • Option for SAML Request Signing: When this option is enabled, WSS signs SAML requests that are sent to the IdP. The signing certificate is now available from the WSS portal.

This service update will also provide performance enhancements.

  • During the maintenance period, administrators may need to re-authenticate to the portal.
  • Real-time traffic filtering will not be impacted by this maintenance.
  • Active log download sessions may experience a brief disruption, which can be resolved by retrying the download.
  • Expect intermittent portal availability and existing authenticated sessions to be ended.
  • Customers using Management Center jobs to update UPE policy may see the connection terminated and re-established. During the maintenance period, UPE policy push will be unavailable. All previously configured policies will remain active.

  • Start time: May 27, 2022, at 21:00 UTC
  • End time: May 28, 2022, at 01:00 UTC
