We observed timeouts for transactions being routed to AMEX Directory Server (DS) between 2111 GMT and 2136 GMT, 13 January 2021. Issue currently stands resolved. No explicit measures were undertaken to recover the service. Transaction traffic routed to other other schemes was not impacted.
We have reached out to AMEX with our inquiry and will keep the Amazon team for further investigation.
