Scheduled

In April, the Symantec Web Security Service Team will be announcing a new data center in Miami. This data center will be announced with a new VIP and will eventually replace the existing Miami data center. Another announcement will be sent when the new Miami data center is available for use.

The new data center will retrieve content using the following source IP networks:

  • 168.149.137.0/24
  • 168.149.138.0/24
  • 168.149.139.0/24
  • 168.149.140.0/24
  • 168.149.141.0/24

Action Required No action is required for customers using connectivity methods that rely on DNS or Symantec’s Cloud Traffic Controller such as Unified Agent or Proxy connections to proxy.threatpulse.net. These connections will automatically be switched over to use the new Miami data center when it is announced in April. However, in preparation for connecting to the new data center, please ensure that any sourced-based access controls applied by you or your vendors are updated by April 15, 2019 to reflect the new source IP networks to ensure WSS traffic can pass unencumbered.

Customers connecting via IPSec should transition to the new VIP as quickly as possible once it is announced. The old VIP will only be available for 60 days months after the new VIP is online.
